I was in a car accident 19 months ago. My vehicle slid on black ice, and I lost control of it. My car flipped, and the hood came down on my head. I had a mild concussion, whiplash, neck pain, and poor range of motion.

I went to physiotherapy, massage therapy, and acupuncture, but I did not have any relief which lasted more than 12-24 hours. None of these types of care solved my problem. A year and a half later, I found myself continually complaining of weakness in my neck, poor sleep, and limited range of motion, particularly in the upper part of my neck, beneath my skull. With everyday discomfort, fatigue, and tightness throughout my back and neck, I carried on with everything I was doing before my accident, but not without pain.

I had a discussion with Dr. B.J. Hardick. I wasn’t prepared to give up on my condition and really felt optimistic that chiropractic care could help. However, I had many doubts about chiropractic care. Someone had warned me that it was dangerous, and that I could end up with serious side effects. I discussed these issues with Dr. Hardick, and I was pleased how straightforward and honest he was in answering my questions. I am amazed how many people are not educated about chiropractic care, and I am amazed how few doctors give patients other means of corrective care, like chiropractic adjustments, for their ill conditions. As a population, I do not think we are sufficiently educated about chiropractic care. I have already learned a lot about this type of care, and feel I was missing out on critical information, all these years. No doctor, physiotherapist, or massage therapist has ever referred me to a chiropractor.

Once I arrived at Hardick Chiropractic Centre, I received a complete and detailed explanation of my condition. I understood what could and could not be fixed, based on spinal x-rays taken by Dr. Hardick. Three areas of concern were found in my spine: one in my lower back, one in the upper part of my back, and most significantly at the top of my neck at C1 and C2. The choice was given to me to have either symptomatic care or corrective care. I opted for corrective care, for obvious reasons.

After my first adjustment, I felt immediate improvement, and began to look forward to the additional results that would come with time. To date, I have only had a few adjustments, and the results have been amazing. I have better range in motion in my neck, and I feel more energized than ever! As I mentioned, I hadn’t stopped doing any of my sports or hobbies because of my condition. But now, I am doing them with more energy, easier breathing, better sight, and overall improved performance. After my second adjustment, I had my best run ever!

If you have a cavity, do you see a dentist? If you have vision problems, do you get an eye exam? Why is it, then, that so many people have known problems in their spines, yet won’t see a Chiropractor? Personally, I am a very cautious person when it comes to my health, buying a car, a house, or starting a serious relationship. In the case of chiropractic care, I left all my fears and doubts at home. The Doctor’s Report was the most essential hour of health information I have ever experienced. I am astounded that there is not more public education about chiropractic care and subluxation. I was in the military for over 10 years, where I received regular medical exams. Not once did anyone verify the overall functioning of my spine. Looking back, I am in awe. I can’t believe it. Knowing what I know now, I see why everyone should have their spine checked, preferably before puberty, so they can attain the highest level of health possible.

Chiropractic has been a huge awakening for me. Physicians can do a great job to help you ease symptoms through prescription drugs … but chiropractors fix the problem.

So far, so good! Visiting Hardick Chiropractic Centre is the nicest gift I have ever given myself.
